Rosa Parks PTSA Awards
Each year, Rosa Parks PTSA gives several special awards to people who have given exemplary volunteer service to children and youth in our community.
Golden Acorn Award
The Golden Acorn Award traditionally recognizes and honors several individuals as part of a statewide PTA program. This year we will award a Golden Acorn to one or more individuals. The PTSA contributes in the name of each of these individuals to the Washington State Scholarship Foundation (the Foundation awards approximately $66,000 annually to high school graduates for post-secondary education). The Golden Acorn is given for continued and dedicated service.
Purple Paw Award
In addition, the Rosa Parks PTSA will honor one or more individuals with the Rosa Parks Purple Paw Award. This award was created to recognize a volunteer who quietly, consistently, and reliably represents the goals of our school. These folks are often working under the radar or behind the scenes but the contributions they make are incredibly valuable to the community.
