Rosa Parks Elementary PTSA
OUR MISSION
Rosa Parks PTSA is a powerful voice for children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and an advocate for the well-being and education of all children.

OUR VISION
That every child's potential become a reality.

WHAT IS PTSA?
Parent Teacher Student Association is a partnership comprised of parents, teachers, and students. Our strong PTSA membership is one of the many wonderful things about the Rosa Parks community. THANK YOU to all our members for their commitments of time, money and talent in making our PTSA strong. If you have forgotten to join this year, it is not too late membership forms are available online.

WHAT DOES ROSA PARKS PTSA DO?
We organize to make Rosa Parks a better place for our children by providing financial and volunteer support for the following Rosa Parks programs and many more: grade level grants for educational enrichment, field trip support, Stem Adventure, Art Smart, local author visits, Nature Vision, RAZ Kids, and the weekly Puma Info. Additionally we plan many special community events throughout the year. Board members meet monthly to discuss, approve and vote on grant requests and to discuss PTSA matters.

WHO CAN JOIN?
You can, as a parent or guardian of a student enrolled at Rosa Parks and/or students. In addition, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors (without or with grown children), and teachers can join. Joining the PTSA is not the same thing as being on the board. We rely on our entire Rosa Parks community to join the PTSA to help support our school activities.

WHY JOIN?
Because without the PTSA, many of the fantastic programs listed above would not exist. In addition to providing funds for the above programs, your membership dues help pay for the cost of insurance coverage, without which the liability to run these programs would be too great.

PTSA provides a state-level voice to the legislature and on committees addressing public policy issues affecting families and children.

You’ll get to know the wonderful Rosa Parks staff and become more familiar with the inner workings of the school.

Bonus Perk: Your PTA membership card provides access to a variety of discounts at the state and national level (FedEx/Kinkos, Staples, Sylvan, Hertz, Great Wolf Lodge and more). See the WA State PTA site for details.

REASONS TO JOIN PTSA:

  • I want to join the other PTSA parents and staff from Rosa Parks who have already pledged their support!
  • I understand a large membership gives credence to our PTSA voice when advocating for our students with the legislature.
  • I want to volunteer and be more involved.
  • I am not able to volunteer at this time, but want to show my support.
  • I want/need a Rosa Parks student directory.

HOW TO JOIN?
Many of you already joined when you filled out your first-day packet, but you can Join Online anytime.
You may pay online for $20.00/individual or $25.00/family membership.
